The simple guide to court procedures in England & Wales

Welcome to the JustClaim web site. This site aims to provide a simple and straight-forward guide to using the civil courts. It also contains links to the resources, for example, forms and court leaflets, that you are most likely to need when making a claim.

A good starting point is our overview of the Court Procedures. This runs through the entire process, from before starting the claim through to getting judgment and then on to various enforcement options. There is quite a lot in this guide but don't be put off. In a real claim only a fraction of this stuff will apply.

The Court Forms section provides links to the more commonly required court forms. The same set of forms are used in both county courts and the High court. The same forms are also used for all the different 'tracks' (e.g. 'small claims', 'fast-track' and 'multi-track'). There is also a section providing information on finding the less commonly required forms.

Use our Courts Index to locate a county court either by town name or browse through the county courts in each county. If you need to visit a court, there is a link to streetmap showing the location of the court on their maps.
